Returning to wild roots


Photos by Melanie Kleiss, executive director of Lower Phalen Creek Project On Saturday, April 8, a group of 31 people gathered at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary to learn about local wildlife from the Minnesota Wildlife Tracking Project. Left, stations were set up for participants to learn about tracking prints left behind from deer, rabbits, mice, woodchucks, and birds. Right, participants also played games to learn about animal behavior, including practicing some bird calls.

Rush Line route draft approved, public hearing set

During its March 23 meeting, the Rush Line Corridor Policy Advisory Committee approved the Alternative 1 route, a 13-mile bus rapid transit route operating in a dedicated guideway generally along the Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority right

South St. Paul road projects given the green light


The Rush Line Corridor Policy Advisory Committee approved a draft of a route for the bus rapid transit line. The downtown St. Paul part of the route will run from Phalen Village to the Union Depot in downtown St. Paul via Phalen Boulevard, Pennsylvania Avenue, Jackson Street and Robert Street. It will then follow the Bruce Vento bike trail in the Ramsey County Railroad Authority right-of-way. North of Interstate 694 the route will run along Highway 61 in its own dedicated lane.
