Raiders roll in playoff opener

For the second straight year the Roseville Area High School girls basketball team drew the No. 1 seed in the section playoffs and faced eighth-seeded Irondale in the first round. Also like last year, the Raiders rolled to an easy victory over the Knights.

Roseville Mayor Dan Roe delivered his annual State of the City address Monday, Feb. 25 from city hall.
The mayor spoke for about 30 minutes on the city’s accomplishments from last year and the goals of civic leaders for the community in 2013 and beyond.

Roseville Area police reports Mar. 5, 2013

A 41-year-old local was arrested Feb. 11 at Larpenteur and Snelling avenues on charges of felony first-degree DWI, gross-misdemeanor blood-alcohol test refusal, gross-misdemeanor driving after license cancellation and careless driving. His vehicle was impounded for forfeiture and the man was locked up tighter than a canned ham at the Ramsey County Jail.

Authorities withhold identity of suspect

Maplewood police arrested a 17-year-old male at 12:15 p.m. March 1 at a Maplewood home in connection with the murder of Anna Hurd.

At a press conference Friday afternoon, acting Maplewood Police Chief Dave Kvam did not identify the suspect, because he had not been formally charged in the case.
