New bridge needed; lane closures begin Monday
The Kellogg Bridge is structurally deficient and needs to be replaced, officials announced Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Following recent inspections, the St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman announced the bridge will be narrowed down to three lanes starting Monday, Sept. 29.

A discovery by North St. Paul city staff has led to some interesting negotiations over who has the right to provide electricity to - and receive payments from -- the Home Depot store in Maplewood.

Rush Line Corridor: yea or nay?

Residents' awareness  of project unclear
With the Rush Line Corridor project moving forward, the amount of familiarity Maplewood residents have with the proposal is unclear.
A recent show of hands at a St. Paul neighborhood meeting showed that many East Side residents are not familiar with the proposed Rush Line corridor, a northeast transit line which as been on the backburner since a preliminary study concluded back in 2009.

School gone after just one year in North St. Paul

The recent move of Bauer-Emerson Preparatory Academy into the former North St. Paul Community Center comes with some obvious changes. One includes the departure of the city-owned fitness equipment, which is being temporarily housed in Ramsey County's Vadnais Sports Center. But perhaps the most notable is the departure of School District 622's Alternative Learning Center after just one year.

Private hockey school makes public headlines

Bauer-Emerson Prep located in former North St. Paul Community Center
Bauer-Emerson Prep in North St. Paul has made its way into the headlines for a slew of reasons lately. Most recently, the start-up private school has been sued by Bauer Hockey, Inc. for copyright infringement on its name.
