Car with two dogs inside stolen from Maplewood gas station

The stolen car has damage on the rear driver’s side bumper and a Minnesota license plate with the number 2DG309.

The Maplewood Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly stole a car that had two dogs inside it Feb. 11 from outside a Maplewood gas station.

North St. Paul woman witnesses 103 years of local history


submitted photos • A lifelong passion for gardening began when 103-year-old Josephine Zeug was a girl working on her parent’s farm in Little Canada. After marrying and moving to North St. Paul, she continued gardening both on her own property on Margaret Street and on her parents new property down the road. She’s seen in her garden in the early 2000s.

Josephine Zeug, who is likely the oldest person in North St. Paul, celebrated her 103rd birthday with cake and ice cream at home with her two sons and her granddaughter on Jan. 20.

A new assisted living facility may be coming to North St. Paul


Aundrea Kinney/Review • The city-owned, two-acre lot near the corner of Highway 36 and Century Avenue in North St. Paul may be purchased in the coming months. If the sale works out, construction could begin this spring on an assisted living facility, which would bring about 25 new jobs to the city.

North St. Paul’s Commerce Park site sparked interest recently with a company looking to develop it into a new assisted living facility.

A hidden addition


courtesy of John Vaughn • The final steps of installing a cell tower atop East Immanuel Church took place Jan. 29. The church is leasing space on the top of its bell tower to Verizon for a cell phone antenna.

Passing by East Immanuel Lutheran Church along Payne Avenue, one might notice that something seems different, or maybe not. It’s not very noticeable, and that’s the point.
