One man allegedly robbed four area gas stations between Sept. 28 and 29. The Oakdale, Maplewood and North St. Paul police departments teamed up to identify a suspect who allegedly robbed gas stations in all three communities.

St. Jerome Elementary School in Maplewood celebrated Kindness in Chalk Day Oct. 2. This national campaign was started in 2015 by a Minnesota blogger as an anti-bullying movement. Kind messages written in chalk are intended to be an inexpensive way to make someone’s day. Beeping anti-theft device mistaken for bomb in Maplewood


The Maplewood Police Department helped keep passersby safely away from the Maplewood Mall Metro Transit Station until it was clear there was no bomb. Aundrea Kinney/photo

When a Metro Transit bus operator heard a beeping sound in one of the trash cans at the Maplewood Mall Metro Transit Station, the driver immediately contacted Metro Transit Police Officers, fearing the noise could be coming from a bomb.

Long lines plague the Maplewood DMV
