Tree Board given Arbor Day Award

The National Arbor Day Foundation has decided the city of Oakdale is worthy of its tree-themed name. The city’s Tree Board has been awarded the 2006 Lady Bird Johnson Award to honor its recent efforts in roadside beautification throughout the city.

Polars pop Packers 3-0 in CSC girls hockey

Those fans on hand for the North vs. South St. Paul girls ice hockey game at Polar Arena Dec. 20 saw the Polars make history.

The 3-0 win by North over the Packers was the first loss in Classic Suburban Conference hockey action South St. Paul ever suffered.
