For years, the neighborhood has been looking forward to left-turn lanes at White Bear Avenue’s intersection with Minnehaha Avenue as a traffic safety measure aimed at preventing accidents.

Nortonia neighbors up in arms over “big bully” of a developer

While building a Minnehaha Avenue home, he was accused in September 2004 of physically threatening a pregnant neighbor.
While trying to develop a Nortonia Avenue property, he was accused in August 2005 of strangling another nearby neighbor.
Police were called both times.

Reports of theft from auto increase in downtown

Detectives have noticed a surge in reports of thefts from automobiles occurring in downtown Saint Paul, particularly in parking ramps. The current year to date total for thefts from auto in downtown Saint Paul are 111. The total for the same period in 2005 was 22.

Our needs increase with age

The other day while I was driving, my monitor was busy. The local dispatchers were sending out requests for a number of ambulance calls. My thoughts went back to previous years when at times the fire chief and the police chief went out to the local ambulance and rushed to an emergency.
