Summer reading participants to receive ‘Day in the Park’

This summer, Washington County children will have a chance to turn time spent reading into a day in the park. The Washington County Board of Commissioners approved the granting of free “Day in the Parks” coupons as an additional incentive for children in the county library’s Summer Reading Program. Children reading over 20 hours will be eligible for the coupons, which can be used on any non-holiday weekday. Based on previous years’ results, library and parks staff anticipate over 1,000 readers may earn the coupons.
