AN ORDINANCE REVISING

THE CITY CODE § 500

(DOGS AND CATS)

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

OF LANDFALL VILLAGE DOES

ORDAIN:

That The City of Landfall Village

Municipal Code, § 500.01, is hereby

revised and modified to read:

Sec. 500.01 Licenses Required.

Except for any humane society,

veterinary hospital, or a nonresident

who is boarding his or her dog or

dogs, cat or cats, in the City for a

period not exceeding thirty (30)

days, no person shall keep any dog

or cat over six (6) months old within

the City without securing a license

therefore from the City Clerk Park

Manager who shall keep a record

of all licenses issued and shall

issue a metal tag for each license.

Licenses shall expire February 28th

each year. A renewal license shall

be defined as one for a dog or cat

which has been licensed by the City

of Landfall Village. Fees for licensing

and/or penalties are as shown in the

City’s Fee Schedule which shall be

modified from time to time by Council

motion. previously, even though

the license may have expired. The

license fee shall be five (5) dollars for

a.) each neutered or spayed dog or

cat and b.) ten (10) dollars for each

non-neutered/spayed dog or cat. A

penalty charge shall be collected on

all licenses issued for dogs or cats

by the impounding officer or official,

unless the dog or cat is less than

six (6) months old, owned by a nonresident

boarding his or her dog or cat

in the City less than thirty (30) days,

or the dog or cat has been acquired

no more than fifteen (15) days

previously. A ten (10) dollar penalty

charge shall also be collected on all

licenses issued for dogs and cats

that have been issued a warning tag

by the administrative officer for either

no license or an expired license.

No refunds shall be made on any

license fee for any reason. No dog

or cat license shall be issued by the

City unless the person requesting the

license produces proof of a rabies

vaccination within two (2) years of

the date of application for license

and maintains the same continuously

while licensed in the City.

B. Wood shall be piled on a platform

12 inches off ground level.

C. Wood shall be piled in quantities

no larger than fireplace cord.

D. State and Local ordinances shall

apply.

The storage of firewood in the City

of Landfall is not allowed at any time

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

OF NORTH ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA

ORDAINS:

SECTION 1: Section 154.003

Definitions, of the North St. Paul City

Code is hereby amended to add the

following underlined material and

delete the following strikethrough

material:

COLUMBARIUM. A structure or

building substantially exposed above

ground intended to be used for the

interment of the cremated remains of

a deceased person or animal.

FUNERAL HOME. A building

used for the preparation of the

deceased for burial and display of

the deceased and rituals connected

therewith before burial or cremation.

For purposes of this code, a funeral

home may not include a crematory

but may include a columbarium.

A funeral home is defined as a

business which provides a wide

variety of funeral services as defined

by M.S. § 149A.02, Subd. 23. A

funeral home may have a maximum

of one crematory retort under the

following conditions:

1) The retort is located within the

same structure as the funeral home;

2) The crematory retort complies

with all state and federal statutes,

regulations and requirements;

3) The crematory retort is used

only for bodies for which the funeral

home has prepared such body for

cremation.

RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS.

A facility where people regularly

assemble for religious worship and

any incidental religious education,

which is maintained and controlled

by a religious body organized to

sustain public worship. For purposes

of this code, a columbarium shall be

included in the definition of religious

institution. This term does not include

an elementary or secondary school,

a specialty or personal instruction

school, or a college. This term is also

known as a place of worship.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall

take full effect and be in force from

and after its adoption. The City Clerk

is hereby directed to publish this

ordinance as required by law.
