Nina Koller, Oakdale resident and Hill-Murray junior

On Dec. 21, Nina Koller, Oakdale resident and Hill-Murray junior, was awarded the Sean Patrick Lyons Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship commemorates Sean Lyons, who died from injuries he received in an auto accident on his way to school at Hill-Murray in 1985. Parents Tom and Meech Lyons and other family members were on hand at the school’s Christmas Mass to present the award to Koller.

Koller is the 20th recipient of the award. The scholarship provides one-half of the Hill-Murray tuition for this year and is renewable for the recipient in the senior year.

Koller is a third generation member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in North St. Paul. She maintains an “A” average, is a member of the Hill-Murray swimming and diving team, active in theater and choral music, and is a member of the school’s speech team. She devotes her free time to volunteering at St. Peter’s, serving as a cantor in a contemporary singing group and working with the parish school’s swim team and children’s choir. She also works at a local dental office.

Nina Koller is the daughter of Denise and James Koller of Oakdale.
