Arrests

— Six juveniles were cited for underage consumption of alcohol after police were called to the 1900 block of Carl for suspicious activity at 2:50 a.m. July 13.

Police discovered an underage drinking party inside the home, and later found another party outside the house.

One juvenile were initially found outside the home along with two 18-year-olds; police determined all were sober and contacted the mother of the 17-year-old.

An 18-year-old man was found outside with a blood-alcohol content of .05. He was cooperative, police said, and told police he was drinking at the house.

Two 18-year-old women and three 18-year-old men were found to have consumed alcohol and were cited.

— A cab driver’s request for $3.40 turned ugly when the customer refused to pay the driver, calling him "a liar" and pushing an accompanying police officer on his front doorway.

It all began after 1:30 a.m. July 15 as a cab driver picked a 43-year-old man up from a bar and drove him home on the 1800 block of Malvern. The customer paid the driver $3 for the ride and told him he would get the remaining $3.40 from inside. But he never came back outside.

The cab driver called police, who knocked on the door of the man’s home. The man began shouting profanities and when he finally answered, he pushed the officer backwards. But the officer held on to the suspect’s sweatshirt so he was unable to shut and lock his front door.

The man was placed under arrest for obstructing the legal process, and the cab driver got $4 from the suspect to cover his cab fare. The man was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

Theft

— A $200 stereo was taken from a car on the 1600 block of Eustis, it was reported at 3:39 p.m. July 15.
