County Board appoints 60 to serve on 2006 advisory committees

The Washington County Board appointed or reappointed over 60 individuals to serve on county advisory committees. Washington County relies on over 20 different citizen advisory committees to advise, consult with or make recommendations to the County Board on a variety of issues that affect the citizens of the county. The County Board also interacts with and makes appointments to a variety of independent agencies that provide services and programs to county residents.

Committee vacancies are advertised in the fall of each year; board appointments are made in January, or as necessary, to fill vacancies. For more information, go to the citizen participation section on the Washington County Web site ( or call 430-6000.
