39ers to dedicate new scoreboard at Kuenkel Field

What has taken several years is about to draw to culmination.

The revamping and improving of the Kuenkel Baseball Field, as part of the McKnight Sports Complex, has waited for a new — hopefully legible — scoreboard.

Baseball fans will have to wait no longer. Thanks to the efforts and financial contributions of CPA firm Hesley Hunt and Associates, Ltd.; the North St. Paul branch of Anchor Bank; The Goodrich Golf Dome; and the North St. Paul American Legion; the newest addition at Kuenkel Field has been realized.

North St. Paul American Legion Post 39 baseball manager Ron Adams has announced that the “official” dedication of the new scoreboard will take place at the 6 p.m. July 13 baseball game against the North St. Paul 39ers.

At the dedication ceremonies Adams hopes for a large turnout of fans to recognize people at each of the organizations who spearheaded the fund raising for the scoreboard.

Adams mentioned that the Norgard family — Candy Petersen in particular — at the Goodrich Golf Dome, Dave Hessley at Hessley Hunt Associates, Tom Jacobson at Anchor Bank and Dave Lindgren of the North St. Paul American Legion were contacts who made the funds to obtain the scoreboard a possibility.

“We would like to see as many fans, former players and area enthusiasts show up. This is not only an American Legion facility, but a place where players from North High and the entire community have benefited from being part of baseball at Kuenkel Field,” Adams said.

So mark July 13 at 6 p.m. on your calendar and plan on being a part of the “Kuenkel Field Scoreboard Dedication” celebration.
