Shoreview natives open new brewery in St. Paul

Settlement reached in contested Lowry Grove sale


St. Anthony’s former Lowry Grove mobile home park is vacant of residents, but it won’t be that way for long. In addition to building market-rate apartments, townhouses and senior-focused housing, as part of a legal settlement, the site’s owner is making provisions, in partnership with equitable housing nonprofit Aeon, to add 110 affordable units to the site as well. The new owner of the land known as Lowry Grove in St. Anthony Village has agreed to sell a portion of the 15-acre property to Aeon, a Minneapolis-based equitable housing nonprofit.

St. Anthony receives official application for redevelopment of Lowry Grove


Those living in Lowry Grove were required to move out by June 30. Now, vacant of residents, the land awaits redevelopment, and the developer, The Village, awaits feedback on plans from both city leaders as well as residents. Jesse Poole

Just shy of a month after it was completely vacated, an application to redevelop the land long known as Lowry Grove was submitted to St. Anthony Village.

Sheriff honors deputies for ‘meritorious acts’


Ramsey County Sheriff Jack Serier, left, honored several deputies at a July 19 event, commending them for their “successful resolution” of a mental health crisis in Shoreview last Feburary involving a man with a knife. New Brighton police de-escalate dangerous situation in city park


On July 13, police responded to a report of a weapon at Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton. After some time, officers safely disarmed a woman who had been wielding a large kitchen knife. Jesse Poole

St. Anthony woman turns 110


St. Anthony resident Evelyn Kleine, 110, and her great-niece, Joanie Bixler Anderson, 60, share a special relationship. The two sing a song together whenever they see each other.
