Falcon Heights adds more permitting to deter student parking

Just prior to the Falcon Heights City Council’s Oct. 11 approval of expanded permit parking in more, but not all of the Falcon Woods neighborhood, council member Pamela Harris made a prediction.

Mounds View grants liquor license to movie theater

Mounds View has just one movie theater, and with its population of 13,000 residents, and a geographical area of approximately four square miles, Mayor Carol Mueller says “that makes sense.”

New hotel set to come to Arden Hills, situated along I-694


The exterior of the building will be comprised of a variety of building materials, including brick, stone, glass and other materials. According to the developer, extensive landscaping will occur and 58 new trees will be planted along the perimeter of the site and within the parking lot area. submitted graphic

Built three decades ago, a vacant office building tucked away on Northwoods Drive near Interstate 694 and Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills will soon be replaced by a 139-room hotel.

Beeping anti-theft device mistaken for bomb in Maplewood


The Maplewood Police Department helped keep passersby safely away from the Maplewood Mall Metro Transit Station until it was clear there was no bomb. Aundrea Kinney/photo

When a Metro Transit bus operator heard a beeping sound in one of the trash cans at the Maplewood Mall Metro Transit Station, the driver immediately contacted Metro Transit Police Officers, fearing the noise could be coming from a bomb.
