Maryland Avenue will permanently be three lanes


file photo • Ramsey County traffic engineers have decided to make permanent the three-lane configuration on Maryland Avenue between Johnson Parkway and Payne Avenue. A mill and overlay of the arterial street will be completed in May.

Updates coming to Phalen Regional Park


graphics courtesy of City of St. Paul • Following a study of traffic and usage in Phalen Regional Park, St. Paul has identified some changes that would improve access to the park. The city will finish construction documents this summer and plan to do construction on the lots near the beach area, as seen above, picnic pavilion, as seen below, and lakeside center in the spring of 2019.

A few parking changes are being planned for Phalen Regional Park within the next year.

Roseville council sees vision plan for Rice and Larpenteur area


graphic courtesy of City of Roseville • Though redevelopment in the Rice Street/Larpenteur Avenue corridor will ultimately be market-driven, the vision plan calls for completely updating and revitalizing the area.

The Roseville City Council got a look at a Rice Street/Larpenteur Avenue vision plan March 12 that could help guide the redevelopment of the intersection and the corridor in years to come.

East Side auto shop aims to keep air cleaner


Marjorie Otto/Review • O’Keeffe’s Collision, located at 860 Payne Ave., was recently awarded $29,000 in grants to help cover the $80,000 cost of installing a new paint system that will use water-based vehicle paints. The use of water-based, rather than the solvent-based paints that are currently used at the shop, will help improve local air quality.

As a way to reduce pollution and keep the air cleaner in its neighborhood, O’Keeffe’s Collision has been awarded grants to help install a new painting system.

This month The Friends of the St. Paul Public Library are asking residents to come out to their local library and share their thoughts about their neighborhood to help create a St. Paul poem.
