Woodbury tops North in extra innings, 4-3
It was a showdown of unbeatens May 27 at McKnight Fields when the No. 1-seed Woodbury Royals took on the No. 2-seed North High Polars.
In a nail-biter that went to the last of the 11th inning before a decision was rendered, the seedings proved right as the Royals outlasted the Polars by 4-3.
The Royals put the first two runs on the board in first inning on doubles into the left center field gap off the bats of Amanda Dickmeyer and Ashley Mickschl.
A second out later Alexis Jacobs slammed a single up the middle and Mickschl scored to push the count to 2-0.
