Arden Hills says Ramsey County 'bullying' city to rush Rice Creek Commons development

Arden Hills convened an Aug. 27 city council work session to draft a letter asking Ramsey County to slow the pace of work on the Rice Creek Commons development, which is in Arden Hills on land owned by Ramsey County. The two entities are heading the redevelopment together. Specifically, the city wanted to delay a Sept. 4 vote on the development's master plan, but the county said Aug. 28 it's moving forward as planned. (file photo)

The Arden Hills City Council said Ramsey County -- its partner in the massive Rice Creek Commons development -- is pushing the city to rush the project. 


Maplewood mosque vandalized in possible hate crime

Maplewood Police are working to identify two young men who were caught on security footage as they vandalized a Maplewood mosque around 1:30 a.m. on July 29.


Sheriff’s office starts donation program for homeless inmates

Ramsey County Undersheriff Booker Hodges’ church has a donation program that assembles and distributes packs of basic necessities for people on the street.

Families and friends came out to enjoy the 105th annual Ramsey County Fair July 11-15. While it was quite toasty, some visitors tried to cool off while being flung through the air on midway rides.

Updates planned for Interstate 94

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be renovating a major interchange in 2019 and 2020, affecting east metro commuters and area residents alike.

Sheriff’s office holds women’s academy, with aims of outreach and empowerment

Solomon Gustavo • Some 30-or-so women participated in the first-ever Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office women’s academy in Arden Hills as seen June 12. The free academy, which aimed to inform women about law enforcement careers and to empower them, ran June 11-15.

On day two of the inaugural Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office women’s academy, the 30 or so women in the program poured out of a conference room-turned-classroom and into the Arden Hills patrol station parking lot for a group picture.
