A hermit thrush, first to arrive in the spring and last to leave in the fall, is caught in a the mist net at the Maplewood Nature Center. Each year worldwide, millions of birds are safely captured, banded, and released unharmed.

Lake Elmo Rotary gold plate dinner

The Lake Elmo Rotary Club will host its annual gold plate dinner at the Lake Elmo Event Center located at 3712 Layton Ave., Lake Elmo, on Sept. 15. At 6 p.m. the evening will begin with fellowship and fun, including games with cash prizes.
