Upcoming hiking club events

Sunday hikes start at 2:30 p.m. go approximately 5 miles and last an hour and a half to two hours. Tuesday hikes start at 11:30 a.m. from November through March and go approximately 3 miles and last approximately one hour.

• Tuesday, Dec. 25, - Christmas Day – no hike

• Sunday, Dec. 30 - Meet at Summit and Western avenues in St. Paul. Participants hike Summit Avenue to the Cathedral and continue downtown to Mears Park and Landmark Center, then return to Summit and Western. 

• Sunday Jan. 6, - Meet at the southwest corner of the Sears Rice Street parking lot, off Marion Street and St. Anthony Avenue, for a loop walk around the perimeter of downtown St. Paul. Parking is free and the walk includes hills.

• Tuesday, Jan. 8, - Meet in the parking lot of IHOP, 7680 10th St. N in Oakdale. Take Interstate 694 to the 10th Street exit, turn right, head east, turn left on Helmo Avenue North and turn right into IHOP parking lot. You will walk neighborhood trails. 

• Sunday, Jan. 13, - Meet at Baker’s Square, 2239 Ford Parkway in the Highland Park area of St. Paul. The hike will go along Mississippi River Boulevard.

• Tuesday, Jan. 15, - Meet by Lund’s & Byerly’s, 2128 Ford Parkway. W., in St. Paul. You hike to Minnehaha Falls. 

• Sunday, Jan. 20, - Meet at the Battle Creek waterpark, 2401 Upper Afton Road, in Maplewood. You will walk down to Highway 61 and the surrounding area. 

• Tuesday, Jan. 22, - Meet at the North end of Kowalski’s parking lot near Taco John’s, 4291 Lake Ave. S. in White Bear Lake. The group will do a paved lakeside hike. 

• Sunday, Jan. 27, - Meet at 645 Warner Ave. S., in Mahtomedi. Park in the elementary school lot across the street from the house. To get there, take Highway 36 east and get off at Hilton Trail. Follow Hilton Trail to 62nd Street North and turn left. Follow 62nd Street to Warner Road and turn right, go for half a mile. 

• Tuesday, Jan. 29, - Meet at the Underground Music Café, 1579 Hamline Ave. N, in Falcon Heights. The hike will be on residential streets and through the fairgrounds to see the Winter Carnival snow sculptures. Park in the Underground Music Café’s lot if you plan on staying for treats. Otherwise, park on city streets, if possible.
