Boosted car

A 33-year-old man told the police Nov. 10 that his 2008 Mercury had been stolen out of a parking lot in the 1700 block of Eustis Street. Minneapolis police found the car and arrested the 15-year-old boy who was driving it. The 33-year-old was told the vehicle had turned up though it was missing one of its license plates.



Police arrested a 28-year-old man Nov. 5 at apartments in the 2300 block of Larpenteur Avenue for possession of cocaine — he was booked at the Ramsey County Jail for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.



Officers stopped a 66-year-old Falcon Heights woman Nov. 10 at Larpenteur Avenue and Pleasent Street and eventually arrested her for fourth-degree DWI. She’d blown a .11 blood alcohol concentration and was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.


Pulled a fast one

A man told the clerk at the gas station in the 2400 block of Larpenteur Avenue Nov. 5 that he would return to pay for gas after pumping it. The man gave the clerk a gift card as collateral. The man pumped $37.27 worth of gas and then left without paying; the gift card was declined.



Mounds View

Drive it like it’s stolen

Officers were called to a hit-and-run property damage accident the afternoon of Nov. 14 at Groveland Road and Mounds View Boulevard. The suspect vehicle later turned up empty in Blaine — the car had previously been reported as stolen.



St. Anthony


A 24-year-old woman who works at a clinic in the 3700 block of Foss Road told police Nov. 8 that a 78-year-old male patient kneed her in the stomach while she was helping him. The woman was in so much pain she went to the hospital. The case is pending further investigation.

Dispatch from the opioid crisis

Employees at the Cub Foods in the 3900 block of Silver Lake Road told police that on Nov. 11 a man holding a gun jumped the pharmacy counter and demanded oxycodone. Staffers complied and gave him an undetermined amount of the opioid painkiller and the man left. Employees gave police a description of the man, and officers later stopped two men, a 26-year-old and a 28-year-old, who could be possible suspects in the robbery.


Internet scam

A 65-year-old woman told police Nov. 7 she realized she had fallen victim to an internet scam, but not before wiring away $1,041, which she’s unlikely to see again.


Purse picking

A 42-year-old woman who works at a senior community located in the  3700 block of Chandler Drive told police Nov. 6 that someone had stolen her wallet, a bracelet and cell phone out of her purse while at work. The wallet eventually turned up in Minneapolis and police have a possible suspect.



While mom’s away ...

A 65-year-old woman told police Nov. 7 that her 27-year-old daughter took her vacation as an opportunity to use her debit card to fraudulently withdraw $1,200 from Mom’s bank account. The case is pending further investigation.
