West St. Paul resident awarded by YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities

Celestine Rodriguez of West St. Paul earned a Youth Thrive aware through the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. The award recognizes her impact on the community while demonstrating the Y’s core values. 

At the YMCA in West St. Paul, Rodriguez is described as an “amazing community activist.” She was the first recruit in the Teens Networking Together program. 

Rodriguez is one of 39, 2018 Youth Thrive honorees that is made up of youth from across the metro area that strengthen the Twin Cities as volunteers, peer leaders and Y team members. 

“I believe I can be the change because I have changed my life around and I love inspiring a difference in others,” Rodriguez said.

“The YMCA continues to invest in helping youth thrive because we know youth are the real change-makers building stronger communities,” said Glen Gunderson, president and CEO of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. “Youth are getting connected and making a difference through their active participation in the Y’s many youth development programs along with their commitment to serving all in our community.”
