Sounds of Blackness performed at the celebration, along with Snoop Dogg, Faith Evans and others. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey was also in attendance. With the eyes of the world on Minnesota for the big game, Frey said it was an opportunity to highlight what sets the state apart as a place of “opportunity, inclusivity and justice.” He added, with an eye on weather reports, “We don’t just accept the cold. We embrace it, in a major way.”
