Countdown to noon

Don’t let the little ones miss out on all the fun that comes with New Year’s Eve. Come to the West St. Paul Library, 199 Wentworth Ave., on Dec. 27 from 11:30 a.m., to 12:15 p.m. as you count down to a glittery ball drop at noon. This is open to kids up to age 6. 

The South St. Paul Library, 106 Third Ave. N., will have a Countdown to Noon on Dec. 30.

 

Craft Club

Come to the Inver Glen Library, 8098 Blaine Ave. E., to work on a current sewing, yarn or craft project.  On Jan. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m., get help or just visit with other crafters.  Coffee will be provided. This adult-level craft club is sponsored by the Friends of the Inver Glen Library.

Meet with a Certified Application Counselor to help you set up an account with MNsure — the one-stop health insurance marketplace where Minnesotans can compare plans and choose from a variety of health insurance options. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are okay as time and space allow. Appointments run from 6 to 8 p.m., Jan. 3 at the Inver Glen Library, 8098 Blaine Ave. E. Receive a free, 30-minute consultation from a volunteer attorney regarding family law matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, visitation, paternity issues, spousal maintenance, and domestic abuse. This clinic is a joint program of Legal Assistance of Dakota County, the Dakota County Family Court, and the Dakota County Law Library. Homeschool meetup

Looking to connect with other homeschooling families in the area? Wanting to bounce questions or experiences off other parents? Looking for ideas or materials to enrich your studies? Come support each other at this meetup from 10:30 to 11:30 at the South St. Paul Library, 106 Third Ave. N. Families are welcome to attend together. 

 

Building with snow

On Jan. 6, learn and practice your winter engineering skills in constructing quinzhees, snow caves, forts and tunnels. Dodge Nature Center will cover the art of packing snow and the use of a snow saw to send you home to make the best snow creations on the block. This will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at Dodge Nature Center’s Farm Education Entrance 3, 1701 Charlton St., West St. Paul. The cost is $7 per person or $20 for a family.
