Casey Lake baseball field named in honor of Jerry Bell

After the field-naming ceremony, Jerry Bell joined the little leaguers for a photo, and threw the first pitch of the baseball game to Riley Skuza of the North St. Paul Polars. The dedication festivities included a North St. Paul Athletic Association ceremonial baseball game, a performance by the North High School show choir, a tour of the new park facility, and complimentary hot dogs and refreshments provided by the Salvation Army Mobile Canteen.

A dedication ceremony for the newly upgraded baseball field at Casey Lake Park was May 6. Jerry Bell, a longtime resident of North St. Paul and former president of the Minnesota Twins baseball team, served the city in many capacities through the years, and the baseball field was named in his honor

The Twins contributed $25,000 towards upgrades to the baseball field. The recent upgrades include new backstops, dugouts, batting cage, outfield fencing, concrete in the dugouts and along the bottom of all the fencing as well as infield grading improvements.
