A bit of community elbow grease

Near the end of construction, Community of Peace second graders came out to say thank you to the volunteers.

Community volunteers came together on April 28 to help construct a new playground at the Community of Peace school, a pre-k through twelfth-grade charter school. About 300 volunteers were swarming like bees at the lot at 421 Magnolia Ave. E. as they worked to get the new playset up. The Community of Peace senior class also helped with the construction. The new playground was a partnership between Kaboom, which helps connect donors with those in need of a new playground, and Target, which paid for the new playground.
