English Street triple-homicide investigation continues
St. Paul Police were called to an apartment building in the 1600 block of English Street, an area east of Lake Phalen, at about 1 a.m. April 7, on reports of a shooting. Officers found five people who had been shot; four of them were dead at the scene.
The fifth person is in critical condition at Regions Hospital.
Police said they found three people who had been shot to death inside an apartment, identified as 47-year-old Wade Gordon McIntosh and his two daughters, Olivia Felis McIntosh, 17, and Maria Alana McIntosh, 19.
As the investigation continued, the fourth deceased person was found in a wooded area near the scene. He was identified as Jeffrey Jemaile Taylor, 20, who investigators later discovered had an 18-month-old child with Maria McIntosh.
Taylor is suspected of shooting the McIntosh family — the Ramsey County Medical Examiner said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
When police arrived at the apartment the child was missing. Police said she was found in a shed, uninjured, with Taylor’s 19-year-old half-brother not far from the scene of the shootings. The 19-year-old was arrested for his alleged role in the shooting and later released because the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office sent the case back to the St. Paul Police Department for further investigation.
The case is still under investigation and police said more details will be released as they become available. Investigators ask anyone with information about what happened to call 651-266-5650.
