After playing nearly 70 games over the summer, the Mounds View Softball Association’s 14U team had to have been exhausted but also proud of what it accomplished.

The team, coached by Rebekah Roth, Mike Koch and Jordan Pearson, participated in seven tournaments, placed in six and closed out the season with championships over the final two weekends.

The final flourish started with a championship in the Tier 2 Minnesota Metro Fastpitch League tournament. The Mustangs followed that up by winning the title in the bronze bracket at the North American Fastpitch Association national tournament.

The Mustangs also added a runner-up finish in a tournament in St. Paul and third-place efforts in events in St. Francis, Lindstrom and Mankato. They finished the season with a record of 49-18-1.

For players interested in being on an MVSA team in 2017, registration opens in January.
