A Mounds View Softball Association team was recently honored for its conduct at a tournament earlier this summer. The Thundering Herd 10U squad was presented with its Youth First Award July 26 at the Shoreview Community Center.

The team and coaches received the award for exhibiting good sportsmanship, positive conduct and competitive spirit at a tournament in Owatonna.

As part of the award, the team received tickets to a Minnesota Twins game, at which they’ll be recognized during a pre-game team parade on the field at Target Field.
