Congratulations graduates!

North High teachers line Aldrich Arena, greeting the 111th graduation class June 8. Speakers would include Principal Greg Nelson, Superintendent Christine Osorio, Distinguished Alumni Colonel and Army Staff Chaplain John Joseph Morris, faculty Robert Hackney grateful for the many satisfying moments at North, and students Rachel Sandquist and Sean Martin.

Tartan students line the railing visiting and checking their phones out at Aldrich Arena June 9. Besides Pomp and Circumstance, the concert band played “Steel” and recessional “Grays Harbor March.” The concert choir  sang “You Raise Me Up.”   

The North High Air Force JROTC Color Guard posted the Colors to begin commencement exercises. The choir and band accompanied them with the “Star Spangled Banner.”

Looking up and adjusting their tassels and caps, Tartan graduates ready for the processional. The 45th commencement program would feature speeches by Riley Boris, Superintendent Christine Osorio, faculty Bill Thyne and Theresa Thomas.

North High graduate makes his way back to his seat with a diploma case. The importance of mentors and mentoring; using your gifts for good; to notice and gather for intentional moments, be there, live; and setting the bar high and thank-yous were thoughts highlighted in speeches.

Tartan guys pose for photos before graduation gets underway June 9. Speeches would touch on compassion and caring; being open to opportunities; and in answer to “what are your plans” question, to find what makes you come alive and go for it.
