Ramsey County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of shots fired at a Shoreview home on the 5900 block of Grotto Street at approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 4.

Ramsey County sheriff's office spokesman Randy Gustafson said upon arrival, authorities discovered there were four victims - an adult male and adult female were pronounced dead at the scene, and another man and woman were injured and transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The condition of the wounded individuals was unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.

Gustafson said the handgun used in the shootings was recovered, and there was no safety threat to people living in the northern Shoreview neighborhood near the Lino Lakes border.

Although it was unclear who fired the weapon, Gustafson said it appears that the four people know each other well.

In addition to sheriff's deputies, the Lake Johanna Fire Department, Allina medical team and Lino Lakes Police Department responded to the emergency call.

Authorities are interviewing neighbors who live on the block where the shootings took place. Gustafson said further details would be released as investigators piece together what led up to the double homicide.
